I don't know about you, but I have a hard time planning time to actually cook breakfast before work.

For a long time, I didn't even eat breakfast. I had a giant thermos of coffee and by 10 am I was shaky and starving.

So, I got smart and started focusing on having some sort of protein for breakfast each morning, whether I felt like eating or not. This allowed me to stop overeating at lunch, and it evened out my blood sugar so I didn't feel shaky or lightheaded in the morning.

My typical breakfast looks like a cheese stick and a few protein balls. I love this recipe for protein balls, though it is not Keto friendly.

For those who are on the Keto diet, finding time to make breakfast can be almost impossible. I have compiled this list to help you find Keto friendly recipes that are simple, delicious, and most importantly can be eaten quickly on the go!

Keto breakfasts can be rather elaborate. But if you are anything like me- you need something super quick for keto breakfast ideas.

I am usually running around the house, guzzling coffee, and trying to put shoes on my feet on any given weekday morning.

That’s why i LOVE having an arsenal of quick keto breakfast ideas that help make sure I am staying full until lunch AND that I am on time to work.

Ah, a hot topic since nutrition became a thing. Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day?

Opinions on this differ greatly, of course, but a really interesting and well-researched article from the Diet Doctor provides us with some important info.

Skipping breakfast can cross over into the lines of intermittent fasting, whether we know it or not. Healthline defines intermittent fasting here, saying :

“Common intermittent fasting methods involve daily 16-hour fasts or fasting for 24 hours, twice per week.”

With this definition, if we eat dinner around 6pm and then skip breakfast, it is possible we aren’t eating lunch until around 12 pm the next day. This gives us around 18 hours of fasting time!

We can easily slip into intermittent fasting without making it a conscience effort- if we are people who tend to skip breakfast entirely some days. There are benefits outlined to practicing intermittent fasting, but it is incredibly important to do your research before you commit to fasting.

Here are some great resources if you are considering intermittent fasting:

There are a few staples that you should have on hand when you are on the keto diet. Some fresh ingredients, and some packaged are really easy to grab and will make preparing breakfast a whole lot easier.

  • Eggs: This is a very popular dish in the keto breakfast world because eggs are very low in carbs, easily accessible, and overall very versatile. A few of the recipes below have eggs in them, but many do not. I know a lot of people get burned out on eggs way too quickly on the keto diet!

  • Avocados: Avocados are commonly referred to as superfoods and there is a good reason! They are incredibly high in good fat, very low in carbs, and provide a great source of protein. Keeping a few avocados on hand is always a good idea on the keto diet and makes it super easy to have fresh keto breakfast ideas every day.

  • Keto Bread: Some mornings you wake up and just really want a good carby breakfast. I know I love bagels and scoured the internet until I found keto friendly bagels that would satisfy my bread craving without kicking me out of ketosis.
Lucky for you, I have a TON of great bread recipes that would be perfect for a quick keto breakfast.

  • Almond Flour: If you are making any recipes like muffins or bread, you will most likely be using a really simple flour substitute- almond flour. As keto is becoming more and more popular, you can get substitute flours at most grocery stores now! I prefer to order mine on amazon because I hate going to the grocery store!

  • Keto Friendly Sweetener: there are a ton of options for keto friendly sweeteners. A few of my favorites that are used in the recipes below are Swerve (there are both granular and powdered sugar options!) Monk fruit sweetener and Stevia are both awesome keto approved sweeteners as well.
