When I started blogging I was immediately blown away by the amount of money that people were making in just one month. If you want a touch more info on WHY I started blogging and what specifically caught my eye, just read this post over here.
So naturally I over thought every thing when I started blogging. I thought I had to create recipes from scratch and makeover my whole house to prove that I was a super organized, put together person.
Lord help us all- I was wrong.
When I came across Chasing Foxes I realized I had been doing it all wrong. Like ALL wrong.
I was writing to myself and for myself. I had not one stinking clue WHO my audience actually was!
So. If you are reading this and are oh I don't know maybe sitting in the same exact boat that I was in, I wrote about finding your target audience over here.
Once I finally found my target audience, the ideas started pouring out of me! I was SO excited to write to people who actually wanted to read my stuff. (ahem- blog confidence booster over here!)
Speaking of a blogging confidence booster, have you taken my free email course on how to use Pinterest to drive insane traffic to your site?
The thing that really helped me finally know what to write and who to write to was by following the pro bloggers.
Pro Bloggers: a blogger who blogs full time and makes over 10k/month.
YALL. When I first started blogging (and even now, agh!) I thought there was NO way the income reports bloggers were putting out were true. But guess what- they are super true and they use strategies that are simple to implement.
When I started stalking the pro bloggers, I was insanely inspired and wanted to know exactly what they were doing. I have been doing some research loves, and I wanted to share some very actionable things that the "big guys" are doing- that YOU can do too!
Because if you are like me you drool over giant income reports and then click away without knowing exactly what to do, I have got you covered.
I have been personally inspired by these amazing bloggers and I want to share their advice with you!
Psssst, they are all badass #bossbabes who are making crazy amounts of money and making a huge difference in people's lives. YAS QUEEN.
The number one tip from Chasing Foxes that changed the game for me is their WIIFM.
They explain it here, saying,
"When we started to create content we did a couple of things. First, we hit people’s pain points: places where we knew they needed help. We noticed that a lot of bloggers out there would create content that nobody read because well.. it didn’t hit a pain point. I honestly don’t need to know how to be a dog whisperer (although that could be cool..).
In short, create content that speaks to problems that people want fixed now. You don’t have to do this all the time, but just remember that you want the amazing 20% (pins that bring in a lot of traffic) that’ll bring them to the rest of your great 80% (the awesome content on your blog).
Second, we looked for posts whose titles over promised and under delivered. Then we took their subject (with no copying of course) and over delivered in all of the areas they missed. We exceeded the expectations of our readers with content that genuinely helped them out."
I love everything Kayla does at Ivory Mix. She is seriously amazing at marketing and especially an amazing photographer. In this post, she touches on how she ROCKS email rocketing!
"Instead of hoping that your readers will click on your affiliate links or product links, take the time to add a lead generation form that offers your readers something you’ve made that is related to the content that is free, in exchange for their email.
This way you can provide immediate upgraded value to your readers with your unique freebie, and also send them a follow-up message that includes more information on the topic, and eventually promote those links to your affiliate products or products you create and sell."

Melyssa does a TON of things really well with her blog. Her branding is amazing, she is authentic, and her marketing strategies are phenomenal. But the thing that she really succeeds at is creating her own products. The majority of her income comes from the sale of her own products.
She talks about creating your own sales page, saying,
"Your sales page can make or break your sale, so it’s important not to neglect this important feature of your product. Even if you’ve grown your email list like a boss, you’ll still be sending prospects to a sales page so that they can take action. If your product sounds fantabulous, but your sales page is seriously lacking, then it could put a big damper in your sales. In no particular order, here are the things you should include in your sales page."

Her Paper Route
I fell in love with Chelsea's blog in like half a second. She does branding SO well and has a TON of free resources for newbie bloggers. The thing that most impressed me though, was the way that she diversifies her income. The income report pictured above has 12 different income sources for ONE month! Making sure that your income streams are consistant, yet diverse gives you huge peace of mind when you are starting out.
Her income report breaks down like this,

Making Sense of Cents
Michelle is a blogging goddess. In case you haven't heard of her, she is killing the blogging game. Regularly making over 6 figures every month- Michelle has established a huge amount of authority in the personal finance and blogging niches. The thing that Michelle excels at is affiliate marketing.
Her course, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing is one of the most popular and effective courses on the market. She shares her strategies that have helped her make such a substantial income each month.
In her course sales page she says,
"If you're not earning money through affiliate marketing, then you are leaving money on the table.
Bloggers and online influencers can all successfully promote products to their audience and earn an income, while being genuine and trustworthy.
I started my blog in August of 2011, at the age of 22, without any hopes of ever earning an income from it. I started it as a hobby - just a way to journal life and talk about my personal finance situation.
I decided to look into affiliate marketing after a few years of blogging. I had always skipped over it, because I thought my blog was too small to make any real money from affiliate marketing. Plus, I just didn't think it was possible to earn a living from affiliate marketing.
Me, being able to make money while I'm sleeping or on vacation?
I surely did not think that would be possible.
Then, I started applying different affiliate marketing strategies to my blog, and they were working. I saw my blogging income increase dramatically every single month.
Now, I wake up and cannot believe the amount of income I am earning through affiliate marketing, all while living a great life and being able to help my audience.
I now travel full-time with my husband and our two dogs, and by the end of the year, we are on track to have a 6 figure income month through blogging. Yes, $100,000 in income a month! If it weren't for my blog, none of this would be possible."

The Moral of the Story is This...
You can never know everything about a subject. Not even the best bloggers in the world know everything about blogging.
The difference is, they have resources.
The greatest part about it is- we have access to these same resources! Through internet living, we are able to learn from the best every single day! If you have questions or want to learn more about a specific part of monetizing your blog- you can find the absolute best person to teach you that!
Knowledge is not all about knowing facts- but rather about knowing where to get answers.
View these pro bloggers as a source of inspiration, but most importantly as the kick in the butt you needed to get your income rising!
If we have learned anything, we have learned that it is possible to make an insane income from blogging, and all of your hard work will be worth it.
As I sit here, painfully far from that 10k/month mark, I can rest assured in the fact that all of these pro bloggers were sitting in my shoes when they first started out.
Staring blankly at a laptop screen, just hoping that they weren't crazy for trying this blogging thing.
In the few months that I have been making a consistant income from blogging I can tell you that, yes it is crazy, but oh so worth it.
So get your laptops charged my loves, you have lots of studying to do!
